PBT (POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTALATE)

APPLICATIONS

PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is widely used for gears, electrical and electronic components, sport equipment as well as the medical devices and home appliances. It is also used in the automotive industry as well as chemical applications and mechanical engineering.

FEATURES

• The PBT Hydex® is made of versatile and economic engineering polyester resin.
• Its fast crystallization provides rigidity, high strength and good electrical properties.
• Very high chemical and thermal deformation resistance as well as good frictional and wearing properties.
• Very low coefficient of thermal expansion and moisture absorption. Easy to add pigment color.
• The physical and technical characteristics of the PBT can be modified to make it suitable to a wide range of industrial applications.
• PBT eases operations after molding as well as printing, painting, stamping and laser marking operations.
• There are more than 30 different formulations of PBT, which about 50% of them are fire retardant. Other formulations provide high arc resistance.
